3D Movies: Entertainment or Eye Sores?
58My recently-exed boyfriend was really excited to watch the Lion King movie that just came out, begrudgingly I agreed to watch the movie. Lucky for the boy it was his birthday. How can you turn someone down on their birthday? Well I obviously couldn't, but moving on.
Some things I should tell you about myself: 1. I hate 3D movies, they just hurt my head and eyes. 2. I don't much like to watch Disney remakes or Disney movies in general. Not sure why, they just don't excite me much or maybe because they were made for 3 - 7 year olds. So agreeing to watch this movie was like shooting myself in the foot.
Lucky me, I did get out of watching this movie, unlucky for me, me and the boy broke up before we got time to do so. Enough about my sad, sad love life.
The real point I was trying to make was even though I didn't watch the movie, I didn't want to because 3D movies suck. Why you may ask, well here's a nice little list for you...
- Shoddy Quality - technology really isn't all that great for 3D yet, its getting better, but still, its no where near what I'd expect for 2011. Hah!
- Head/eye ache causing - the glasses hurt my head and the crazyness that they need to make the 3D effects hurt my eyes, maybe I'm just sensitive but I've heard it from other people.
- Expensive - you pay like 3 - 5 extra dollars to wear these glasses that you don't keep.

3-D is a gimmick. Usaully it doesn't really add to the movie. Especially if the 3-D is added after the fact. There has to be a good reason to see any movie in 3-D. Otherwise I will watch it in 2-D.
